Business Management and Marketing
Business management and marketing programs prepare high school students and college students for entry into and advancement in business, management, and marketing careers. Classroom instruction is combined with workplace experiences to support and enhance the areas of study as they relate to personal and business decision making. Students use accounting procedures and make decisions about planning, organizing, and allocating resources. They apply principles of law in personal and business settings. Students study marketing as it relates to distribution, finance, research, management, pricing, product/service management, communication, promotion, e-marketing, and entrepreneurship. Finally, students develop interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills necessary to be successful in diverse business settings.
The student organizations affiliated with business management, technology, and marketing programs at both the high school and college level are Business Professionals of America (BPA), DECA, and Collegiate DECA.
