Meals

 

Hosted lunches and breaks will be designated in the conference schedule. These meals and breaks are for registered conference attendees only. Guest meal tickets are not available for purchase. Please contact your program manager regarding the guest attendance policy for pre/post conference meals or other meal functions. For those with specific dietary needs there are alternative meal selections available within the registration system on the personal information page.

Awards Banquet and Silent Auction

 

This year's awards ceremony will be held off-site and will be combined with a banquet and silent auction. The event will be approximately $35. Dinner will be included and guests are invited to enjoy a no-host bar.

This event will showcase:

    • CTEI Award Recipients
    • Exemplary Program Award Recipients
    • Industry Partner Award
    Proceeds from the silent auction support the Idaho Career & Technical Education Foundation, which is committed to stimulating and promoting quality career & technical education to fill the needs of Idaho’s growing workforce. The foundation benefits career and technical education in Idaho by facilitating industry donations, offering teacher and student scholarships, and acting as an advocate. 

Lodging

 

You must identify yourself with PTE Summer Conference at the time of lodging registration in order to receive the conference rate. For more information on lodging and a list of hotels in the Twin Falls area, please visit our lodging web page.

Attendance

 

PTE Professional Development Conference is a professional development activity of the Division of Professional-Technical Education.  Only registered attendees are allowed to attend the PTE Professional Development Conference activities, sessions and meals. In order to maintain a professional environment it is not appropriate for guests or children to attend.  Registered attendees are required to wear their conference nametags at all scheduled functions including hosted meals. Lost nametags will be replaced at conference headquarters.

Special Accommodations

 

The Division of Professional-Technical Education provides reasonable accommodations to assist persons with disabilities which affect their ability to access or participate in Division sponsored programs and/or activities.  Registered attendees who wish to request a reasonable accommodation(s) for the PTE Professional Development Conference must contact their Division Program Manager or use the space provided in the special accommodations area within the registration system on the personal information page by July 15, 2016, at 10:01 p.m. MST.

Optional Activities

 

As part of this year's conference offerings, attendees have the option to choose from a number of local activities. These activities, which are separate from the conference registration, range from kayaking the Snake River to a trip to Jackpot. More information can be found on the additional activities page. If you are interested in participating in any of the additional activities, please check the boxes on your registration form. As the conference approaches, you will be provided with more information about how to register and pay for these activities.

The Idaho Professional-Technical Education Foundation

 

The Idaho Professional-Technical Education Foundation is committed to stimulating and promoting quality Professional-Technical Education to fill the needs of Idaho’s growing workforce.

The Foundation is an independent organization with its own governing board and policies.  The Foundation traditionally conducts a silent auction and/or golf tournament fundraiser during the PTE Professional-Development Conference.  Foundation fundraisers are a separate activity and are not affiliated with the Division of Professional-Technical Education.  Information and questions about the Foundation and their Professional Development Conference activities may be found on their website. Career and Technical Educators of Idaho

  Career and Technical Educators of Idaho (CTEI) serve the career and technical educator by promoting opportunities for continual personal and professional development. 

University Credit

 

Teacher education programs normally offer options to earn additional credits.  The number of credits depends on the program(s) offered each year.  Check with the university representatives located in the registration area at conference. Questions regarding past earned credits should be directed to the university.

CEU Credit

 

Individuals registered and attending the entire scheduled conference are eligible for equivalency credit for recertification purposes.  The 15 hours for the summer conference equals one (1) in-service credit.

Presentations

 

The PTE Exemplary Program Finalists and Awards are presented during the Opening Session. Please refer to the conference brochure for detailed information on recipients of PTE Exemplary Program Awards.

Vendors

  The CTEI vendor show conducted during the PTE Professional Development Conference is a separate activity and not affiliated with the Division of Professional-Technical Education.  Please direct all vendor show questions about vendor displays, scheduling, or costs to Merry Olson.
